Foundation for Environmental Research and Innovation (FERI)
FERI is registered as a Trust in Kannur during 2015 and currently operates from Kochi, Kerala. The objectives of the FERI Trust are primarly focused on betterment of Environment & Education. The key goals also include promotion and popularization of Research & Innovation concepts, practices and methodologies among the society.
Through the active involvement of researchers from esteemed universities in lead role, the FERI Trust undertakes novel projects to bring transformation in society. The multidsciplinary research team have profound expertise in Strategic Research, Climate Change, Coastal Resilience, Oceanographic modeling, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Solutions, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development, Wetland Assessment and Environmental Management. The research organization provides consultancies, trainings, project undertakings and research solutions in the respective domain of expertise.
FERI Trust is focused on commercialization of research outputs, so as to enhance the socio-economics and resilience of the society. The Trust strives to implement the 'Lab to Market' level approach through Technology and Research based Entrepreneurship. The Resinnov Blue project of FERI Trust being incubated through ICAR – Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Kochi leads in digital transformation of fisheries sector, with launching of e-auction platform (integrated with 4 types of auctions) for the sector as a first national instance.
