The FERI Trust's ongoing research project ‘Resinnov Blue’ focuses to research, promote and popularize the E-Commerce Technology to modernize the national fisheries supply chain coupled with incorporation of quality practices.
The Resinnov Blue project is being incubated through ICAR - Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Kochi HQs. A MoU has been signed between ICAR-CIFT and FERI Trust to facilitate the incubation facilities towards attainment of the project goals.
With Technology and Quality as key modules the Resinnov Blue project has the following objectives
Digital transformation of national fisheries supply chain
Operationalise online auction in Indian fisheries sector
Develop, market and operate or transfer brands focused on quality and technology
Online and outlet sales of quality assured fish and fish products
Indian Fish Bazaar, Online Fish Sales, Online Fish Trade and Cochin Fish Club are the brands being developed at this stage, and more brands shall also be developed through this project as deemed fit.
An online e-auction platform (with 4 types of auctions) and another to upgrade the regional shops to digital platform has been launched in September 2022.
The research solution for digital upgradation of conventional fisheries supply chain has been widely reported by regional and national media.
The project is being futher progressed to avail satellite connectivity for trading from Indian Ocean without mobile tower connectivity.
